Caution, when you use the service of Yuba City Modern Dentistry on 995 Tharp Rd Ste B, Yuba City, CA 95993. In my opinion they use sneaky tactics to get more money out of your pockets. BEWARE: I recently transferred my insurance to Yuba City Modern Dentistry because my previous dentist was located in Woodland (45-mile drive) and I'm in wheelchair and no longer drive. I made sure that they got the insurance transfer. As noted in other reviews the staff was friendly, and the office was modern. The problem came when they presented the cost of the work to be done, and it didn't match the schedule of benefit for my co-pay. I had Osseous Surgery in March and paid $5011.00 out of pocket. Eight months later, I received a bill for $1200 additional. My insurance told me that the office sent them information indicating the procedure was not medically necessary. It took two weeks for the office to follow up with me after leaving three voicemails and talking to someone who didn't know the answers to my questions. This dental group is affiliated with Atascocita Modern Dentistry. I have been to both & tell me each time I needed deep root cleanings (Needed every 3 months) & crown for my prior fillings. Also last year I paid for some type of Bacteria Testing & I had no bacteria. I went to a different dentist office that did a regular cleaning, my gums & filling were all just fine. Beware of this office left my dentist of 15 years with no problems going back as soon as possible. These people are just trying to generate money for their office not very reputable. Do not trust.

Receptionist, male Receptionist is incompetent told me I was rude and that I needed to go somewhere else was never able to send email to dentist. He always intercepted emails lousy system.

How do dentist for 15 years no problems cleaning twice a year lost my insurance PPO so I had to get an HMO Oxnard smiles took the insurance so I walked in there to make an appointment first of all they couldn’t find me in the system so I went home and got my dental card and they found it Next doctor, Maria said that I need it extra cleaning that was not covered by the insurance So I asked her can we just do a cleaning that’s covered by the insurance because I’m short on fund she said no going somewhere else money grabbers

Arrived to my appointment only to find out that it was cancelled - office staff informed me that I had cancelled the appointment on the app which I never did, I left feeling upset. Not coming to this dental office again.

The staff here is the rudest but the owner lets them because they run a shady business... so you get the point. Don't skip the charge details when they give you, because they will overcharge you and your insurances.
