I have a lot of good things to say about Optalis Canal Winchester. The facility is clean and smells good. The staff are really friendly and truly do care about the people they are serving. I am on my second visit because I broke my ankle and need rehab. So nice to remember so many faces. It makes it easier when going to a nursing home. So glad I came back to the same place. The facility seemed well appointed and clean. It was sometimes hard to find assistance: not enough staff. The doctor only attended once a week I believe, not enough. They did not help our father much at all and he ended up with MRSA and pneumonia, and practically starving. (Of course we don’t exactly where the diagnoses came from.) We were there every day advocating for help. He ended up back at the hospital. Sorry to be harsh but need to be honest.
Oh where to start. One star because there are no negative ones. I had to pay 10k before they would take my mom from the hospital. Put on a huge act , tell you all the things that you need to hear to leave your person there. They were informed before she was brought there of her condition. Stage 4 cancer in her spine. They were absolutely horrible. I was there all the time because they are not trained to deal with anything beyond basic care. She was a full assist patient. Nursing, aides, rehab staff, housekeeping were all amazing. My loved one received excellent care. I highly recommend Canal Winchester Rehabilitation.
Totally understaffed. My Father hits the Nurse Call button, they come in, reset it and walk out. He calls me all hours of the day and night saying he's had an accident and he will sit there (in it) for hours before anything is done. I've reported them to the Ohio Dept of Health... doesn't matter, they get written up and fined but nothing changes....
