This is a beautiful area. A lot of invested energy and creativity to make this place beautiful. We were there in the fall so it was fairly quiet. The disappointment was the canal exhibit. They missed out on the African American piece. Slavery played a big role in the area, both in building the canal, cheap labor, and The role of the canal in participating in the underground railroad. They also didn't mention much about the thousand men who were brought in to build a canal from Europe and the impact those men had in the area.... read more
Nice hike near the canal (probably better for biking given the length), a cute playground, a few shopping spots nearby or if you venture into town. Many beautiful sights along Washington st, but be careful, major construction. Many places are closed on a Monday.The train station itself is a bit sketchy.
