Thank you to our coordinator Julie B for being compassionate, understanding of our families needs for needed respite care to support our toddler as well. Julie was patient and did the application process while explaining each part of the application. This facility does not merit even a single star. The staff lack the experience and training necessary to support families facing complex mental health challenges. Rather than providing meaningful help, they often exacerbate an already fragile situation. If your child is living with a mental illness, I strongly advise seeking care elsewhere. Our mental health system is in urgent need of reform — families deserve competent, compassionate, and informed care. Sadly, this is not the place to find it.
This place doesn't even deserve one star. The people who work here are inexperienced and rather than support caregivers, they make matters worse. If your child has any form of mental illness, I strongly suggest that you avoid this place at all costs. Our mental health care system is broken and we deserve better.
I attend the peer support groups and truly appreciate the kindness of the leaders and the openness of the other participants. I also thoroughly enjoy the Spark of Brilliance program. Wonderful people, wonderful experience.
