I’m from the Sunshine Coast. I made a special trip get my carburetor completely rebuilt here last October. Cost me $600, yes $600 ! 1983 GMC van use for camping with 170k Kms with a 305 and Quadrajet carburetor. Got it back, hooked it up started fine, got it all warmed up but running rich drove it for a week still rich. Called they said need to adjust it because it’s not to specs anymore. Don’t have the special tool, took it to a mechanic (this after I paid $600) told them just had it rebuilt needs the mixture adjusted. Late... read more
