I've had my unit for 10 years since the previous owner Dan ran things and it was great. Since Storage Sense took over a few years ago my monthly rate jumped 150%, and service totally disappeared. There is NO security. The entry gate has been broken and left open for months. Weeds grow 2-3 feet tall in front of units before anyone pays attention and during winter snow removal is so late I end up having to shovel my unit out. The online setup for autopay didn't work. It's likely my mistake but it could use some improvement to help customers. Since it wasn't set up, I ended up behind on my bill and locked out of the unit. Although emails went out about this, I didn't see them because I don't check personal email often. It would've been better if someone called me or an alert was sent by text message. I asked the phone rep to connect me with the local manager so I could provide this feedback but they never contacted me. I ended up paying late fees ... read more

For the past few years I've spent $617/ month on three storage units at the Canaan, NY location. Last month we paid a visit to our units and were disappointed to realize that all of our expensive belongings were COVERED in dust/ dirt and that one of our units was infested with mice. We reported this to the company and they swapped the mouse infested unit with a new one. We then proceeded to clean out/ transfer our unit, cleaning everything that could be salvaged and making dump runs dumping everything that had been destroyed... read more

I would NEVER get a unit here again. Door was jammed upon arrival, no lock was inside unit which was included in price of unit, and gate code given was incorrect. More than 8 phone calls to store manager over the course of 4 months, never a single answer, only ever redirected to customer service, who never can get an answer as well. Was told I would be reimbursed for lock, never was as well. Would give ZERO stars if possible.

Don’t get a unit near the train tracks unless dust is not an issue. The dirt permeates everting! Expect your monthly fee to double over a short time. The investment company who now ons the storage units are a bunch of theives.
