I had both knees replaced in March and May of 2023 respectively. Everyone in Dr. Prater’s staff makes you feel at ease. Or, at as much ease as you can be in during surgeries. Now, in 2026, I learned that I will need a hip replacement, and Dr. Prater and Ortho Carolina are the only Doctor and center I want to do this.
If I could, I would give this doctor a zero. In January, I visited Dr. Prater with concerns about complications from an ejected screw after an osteotomy and labrum tear repair in my left hip. The screw was causing excruciating pain, and I was worried it was causing damage. I have severe joint issues due to an autoimmune disease and have had to work harder than I should to avoid being dismissed because of my age. Dr. Prater was very professional and caring, I had water on the knee and he was able to drain the fluid and get me back to normal. I would highly recommend him.
