About this business

After working at Chez Panisse for over 20 years, Russell Moore opened this warm and rustic restaurant in the Grand Lake area of Oakland. Inspired by traditional home cooking in France, Italy and Spain most of the dishes served at the restaurant are cooked at the restaurant's prominent fireplace or wood burning oven. A small, decisive, daily changing menu reflects the seasons, the region and the restaurant's commitment to small farms. Camino offers a specialized cocktail menu using the same carefully sourced ingredients as th... read more

While I've never truly warmed up to Camino's "vibe", I will, none the less, mourn it's closing. Their clientele were loyal and they certainly supported the restaurant. Not too chuffed about seeing another pizza place coming into the Grand Ave. neighborhood either, but as the saying goes, the only thing that's constant is change. All the best to the owners and staff. I hope you all land on your feet...

Literally our favorite restaurant in the world. Devastated that they are closing. We have celebrated so many birthdays and anniversaries here. Outdid themselves tonight with the lamb. Farewell, old friend.

They act like GMO's are terrible and I don't appreciate spreading misinformation about the safety of GMOs

I've been to Camino for Monday steak nights in June & Monday paella nights in August. Each outing did not disappoint. It's a prix fixe menu but there's no need to add or change anything else. But, the flatbread is a must.

Absolutely wonderful experience. From the poppy seed crackers and cheese to the hand ground coffee with dessert. I absolutely adore casual fine dining. This place has it down to an art form!

The Grilled Pork Leg was cooked perfectly, the oysters had very good flavor and were cooked nicely. Of course they had one of my favorite cheeses. The overall concept of the restaurant was very interesting and I think will be copied. I liked that the tip is included in the price. The service was great and they should be paid accordingly. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening.
