Stopped in here for New Years. We decided on the Seafood Platter for two. The portions were huge. The service excellent. We recommend them!
The food was delicious, as usual, but we were not happy with the service. If you have signs up that say “Breakfast Served All Day”, then your waitstaff should not continually complain about that fact during the entire time we were there eating breakfast. He even went so far as to tell us that because we ordered breakfast, our ticket would be held up because they had a “big” lunch order that just went in. The only “big” table had five people. Camellia Cafe has a great staff that is friendly and creates a welcoming family-like atmosphere. The food is delicious offering a wide range of tasty home cooked food. I highly recommend Camellia Cafe as “ the place to enjoy while visiting Slidell ! We enjoyed a wonderful birthday luncheon while there .
I went there yesterday morning. I sat down at about 10am. it took a while, but the waitress finally came to ask what I wanted to drink. again after a while she came back for my order. long story short, I didn't get my food until 1130. Although the food was very good, the super slow service is not worth going back for. If the owner is reading this, please, hire more help, start cracking down on your employees, do whatever you have to do to get the service end moving.
wonderful dishes cooked to perfection. The cook Shawn really outdoes himself. very friendly wait staff
