It was a nice place just a little bit out of downtown. It’s advertised as a classy and elegant motel, but it seems more like it wants to be, but doesn’t quite hit the mark. Especially when it comes to the lighting. It just seemed cold and off. The breakfast was located downstairs in the basement in while the food was delicious. It just seemed a bit… different.
Beautiful old hotel with great character. Easy check in made possible by the friendly girl at the desk. We were given a first floor which was wonderful since they don't have an elevator. At first glance the room looks delightful 🙂
Location is great for just about anything. Our room overlooked a couple delapitated homes. Bed needs an upgrade, pillows are cheap and not comfortable. Walls are paper thin. Would you like to take a shower or bath? Hopefully you like Luke warm water only because there was no hot water to enjoy the large shower or the claw foot tub. Need emergency toiletries, nope not here.
What a fun little hotel. The historic building has very thoughtfully been converted into a hotel. The breakfast was one of the best continental breakfasts I've had in a long while. Will definitely try to stay there again next time I come to town.
The room and bathroom were extremely clean and cozy. Quiet and peaceful environment. Breakfast was top notch. We really enjoyed our stay at the Calvert Hotel. Thanks!
