Easy, comfortable, consistent I spent much of grad school lunching at Call of the Canyon. Clever sandwich combinations, fresh breads, and super friendly staff. The desserts were top notch, too! I miss it.
Call of the Canyon is a lovely restaurant in downtown Bowling Green. Most of the sandwiches come with a side of tortilla chips and some delicious homemade salsa. The sandwiches themselves are unique and delicious. The wait staff are always very nice and accomodating. The only thing to be wary about is that it is quite small, so you may have to wait for a table if there is a lunch rush and unless things have changed, they do not accept credit cards.
Good but not great I had been encouraged to try Call of the Canyon by a BGSU alumni. I was excited, even as we walked in. The decor is really cool, with a lot of southwestern US memorabilia around. The food, however, was not the hottest. I had a salad and my friend had a sandwich. Both were okay, but nothing to write home about. I must admit, however, that the staff was soooo friendly. I really felt welcome. I hope I caught them on a bad day, but who knows?
