Expected More – Was invited to go to lunch with a couple of coworkers for restaurant week, checked out the menu before going looked good. We entered and the restuarant was pretty but looked beat. We sat down the waiter didn't even ask if we wanted something else to drink besides water. We ordered and I had the chilled pea soup which had a after tase that made me want to cleanse my palate with bread. I also ordered the duck... wow bad mistake it came out fleshy red i sent it back to be cooked more. The salad on the plate was ... read more
I wanted to like it so bad... – First of all I also haven't gotten credit for the open table reservation...and that's disappointing.... what's worse is the meal that I unfortunately had there. Everything was extremely dry...I went for dinner restaurant week... the duck broke my heart. It was not good...and it was served on a bed of what looked like Chinese takeout white rice. The peach and prosciutto salad, also a bad experience. It was dry, not especially fresh (the seafood cosmopolitan was not especially fresh either...)..... read more
Dessert: Chocolate Trilogy with a "special surprise" =/ – restaurant week pre fixe menu: appetizer - mussels are very good, smoked salmon are okay. entree - lamb is very good, scallops is also good, the mahi mahi was just ok. dessert - creme brulee was good, chocolate trilogy was NOT supposed to have uncooked rubbery beef tendon in it!!!! not only was there rubbery beef tendon in it, NO ONE CAME TO APOLOGIZE!! the waiter was just trying to cover the evidence. if you would like a chocolate trilogy with a VERY "SPECIAL SURPRIS... read more
Terrible, Find another place to eat – We reserved our reservation on opentable and were extremely disappointed with our entire experience. When we got there there was not a single person in the dining room and only a few patrons at the bar. During our entire meal not a single other table was filled in the dining room (we should have taken the hint and got out when we had the chance). A few patrons came and went in the bar area, but no other diners. The menu is small and over priced. The food was hotel quality at best. The wi... read more
Excellent Food – I went to Caliterra for a late lunch after a meeting downtown. I had never even heard of the place until I walked by it. The staff was very nice and attentative. I was constantly asked how things were and if I needed anything, but not so much that it was annoying. The food was great and the atmosphere is real nice. Gotta check this place out, its well worth it.
Totally disappointed! – I also had the $25 certificate and even with that it was very disappointing. The food was not good, steak was under cooked and potatos were too gingeri! and also the side of the sea bass was very sweat. Also I didn't have the previous experiences regarding the host. Also the food is way too over-priced. The waiter was very cold and the only time we visited him was at the end for the check! Overall I can say that we didn't like any aspect of this restaurant but its atmosphere. Trust me, for that much t... read more
Classic Italian favorites are infused with Northern California creativity to produce a unique dining experience in a casual hotel setting. – In Short Located in the Hilton Boston Financial District, Caliterra gives classic Italian dishes a northern California make-over. High ceilings, bronze walls, dark furniture and white linens give the restaurant its elegant feel. An inventive, seasonal menu includes staples like the Caliterra surf-and-turf--a filet of beef paired with creamy lobster risotto and a savory tarragon sauce. D... read more
eh – I decided to visit Caliterra b/c i had a gift certificate from Restaurant.com. Without the $25 discount, I don't know if it'd be worth it. The lamb was rather bland, while the duck was a bit overcooked. The service as great! Our waiter, Ed, was great, although the busboy was a little creepy, and stood a little too close for comfort watching us eat our meals. Not the most amazing dining experience I've had, and I've definitely had better ones for cheaper.
Great place! – I'd never heard of this place before, but my family came to visit and stayed at the Wyndham. We liked Caliterra so much that we hung out in the bar every night! The bar and restaurant staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and really make you feel at home. I can't wait to go back!
