About this business

Calico is an old West mining town that has been around since 1881. With its 500 mines, Calico produced over $20 million in silver ore over a 12-year span. Calico lost its population when silver values fell. It's now part of the county parks system.

Fun little town just off Route 66. Very kid friendly with a quaint train ride and little stores selling trinkets and novelty items. $8 a person for the entry fee seemed a bit high at first, but the walk around the town and the scenic views made it worth the price!

Made a reservation at the county RV park which included entry into the Calico ghost town. Found it to be great and while there were no real trees for shade and sites while gravel were fairly level and had water, sewer and 30 amp power. We love this lil town. Have yearly passes which we've renewed several times. It's full of history and a wonderful place just to stroll and have a quiet lunch. Plus it's very dog friendly. Halloween haunts is not to be missed either.
