Calico is an old West mining town that has been around since 1881. With its 500 mines, Calico produced over $20 million in silver ore over a 12-year span. Calico lost its population when silver values fell. It's now part of the county parks system.

excellent place. Make sure you take the train ride and tours.
They charge for everything!!! Nothing is included with price of admission except parking and a walk.
I am very familiar with cheesy "Ghost Town" tourist traps and generally they are full of horribly overpriced homemade kitsch that has no redemptive qualities. Calico was not that place. Don't get me wrong, there is plenty of overpriced kitsch to go around, however this was a genuine mining town with clear history and a very dedicated theme. The staff and players were very pleasant and helpful and there was a lot of actual history and absolutely interesting stuff to see and do. Highly recommended and a pleasure to have visite... read more

Well I really enjoyed myself . Yes it was hot 98 degrees in July but survivable. I'd would go back when it's cooler to enjoy. Too hot for any tours but definitely a place to come back and brings the grandkids. Get them out of room and social media!!!! Good ole family fun. Had a turkey burger which was good
