The service provided for my 30 yr. old son was really great. The psychologist was very attentive to my sons needs on talking to someone beyond family. He gave homework assignments geared for his communications and understood what my sons needs were to address and make him feel heard and accepted. I attended the first initial assessment due to my son's autism to clarify any missing info., etc. He also had an emotional service animal in his office which was nice for us, to see.
I don’t remember much about the doctor, my husband saw him. But I’ve talked several times with the front office staff and they are SO incredibly kind and cheerful!!! I was ridiculously late in paying the bill and they never yelled or anything, we’re just super happy and kind the whole time. Really appreciate that. Left a good impression.
Just, wow. One get-to-know-you appointment and Brooks was extremely dismissive of the reasons I was in to see him. Brooks, you are the reason people struggle to come in for counseling, because it's hard enough working up to get myself to seek counseling services only to have to deal with your poor approach. You don't even try....
I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anyone. I saw him, as did a family member at a different time. He was very dismissive to both of us and seemed to have formed his opinion of each of our issues very early (the first 45mins of the first session). His ideas vary greatly from other psychologists who spent a lot more time. The worst part is that he doesn't think he has anything to learn, so he cannot improve on this or any other issue. Sad, but dont waste your time.
