I have been purchasing cakes from Karen for my kids birthdays and other occasions since before she had her storefront. They have always been delicious and exactly what I had asked for. I have recommended here to several other people who have had nothing but good things to say about her business and her cakes. I enjoy purchasing from a small business and am glad to support her.
I had ordered a half sheet cake and 36 cupcakes three and a half weeks before my husbands 40th surprise birthday party. I had paid half of the order total when I placed my order. I drove over a hour to her shop to find out she had never bothered to make my order and the only employee there couldn't find my order. After seeing one of the cakes at a party i decided to purchase for my daughters party. That was then and this is now is how the story ended up. Bad experience
I ordered a cake from Cakes by Karen because she was one of the few places that was willing to do a 3D cake. I asked her to do one for a surprise party. It was a little on the expensive side for how small the cake was. However, she surprised me and threw in a dozen cupcakes, hand delivering them to my home just before the party. The cake was delicious and everyone LOVED the design of the cake. It looked very realistic and tasted great. I'd have to say that the price was worth the design and taste.
I paid a lot of money for a cake that turned out to be pretty bad. I let the owner know I was unhappy, but got no response. I regretfully paid for the cake because I had no time to get a new one elsewhere, because it was the day of a surprise party. A few months back I ordered a cake for a very special party I was hosting. When the cake showed up it was absolutely beautiful. However, when you cut into it and it was served it was so dry it was crumbling apart. I also ordered the cake in vanilla and amaretto. You couldn't tell the difference between either flavor. For my Fathers 60th birthday I wanted to get him a special cake. I know that he loves watching Asphalt Modifieds, So I looked up Bakeries and I came across Cakes by Karen. I emailed her with my request and I sent her a picture of a racecar and she said she would do it. I got the cake the morning that I needed it and I was amazed at how the cake turned out. Karen made a beautiful cake for our wedding that exceeded our expectations. Every little detail on the cake was handmade and detail oriented. Karen is a perfectionist with her cakes!
I had Cakes by Karen design a cake for my daughter's 7th birthday and boy am I glad I did! I loved everything about the cake, I sent her a picture and she perfectly duplicated it down to the smallest detail! Not only was the cake beautiful, but it tasted as incredible as it looked! Everyone at the party was in awe, and the birthday girl had the biggest smile on her face! Thank you Karen, you'll definately be hearing from me again!
