BEWARE!!! I hired this firm to provide a kitchen remodel from design to execution and it was a horror story to say the least. From multiple measuring errors in the designs, to numerous visible damages, this firm is not competent and arrogant. They use a sub contractor named **************** who should be best known for attempting to repair new items that Kaizen damages. I chose to work with Cairns & Craft after a previous builder, **** ******* of ********** ***********, did major structural work on our home without getting the legally required permits. The experience with the ********** *********** left me very burned, as the previous builder was not honest and very hard to work with. When I met Charles & Marie from Cairns & Craft, it was a breath of fresh air. They were completely honest and transparent in their work to go back and re-do the previous work. It has been 2 years since our remodel and we are still so happy! We feel very lucky having worked with Charles and Marie! We heard nightmare stories from friends and co-workers about their remodels using other contractors - such as delay after delay which cost them money, poor quality and workmanship, poor communication, taking on too many projects at one time, and mountains of frustrations - we were very careful about selecting contractors when it was our turn. I hired CairnsCraft Design & Remodel for a bathroom remodel (converting my old leaky cast iron tub into a shower) in my old house (built in 1924). I can't recommend them highly enough! From my first meeting with Charles, through the entire 3 week project, which was managed by Marie, I was consistently impressed by the professionalism and top-notch quality of work done by everyone involved in this project. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Marie and Charles Cairns and their staff. What made it somewhat unique is that this is a second home for me and I was not there during the majority of the construction. I only visited twice. Marie was really terrific in keeping me informed of the progress at all times through texting, phone calls and emails and particularly in sharing pictures. From the first meeting to our last, Charles and Marie never ceased to amaze me. Their expertise and vast knowledge and great suggestions were invaluable throughout the remodel. I do want to give a shoutout to Marie, this lady works hard and really cares. She not only maintains the schedule, she will come to prep before the crew comes, and will then clean up after.
