I booked two identical 2-bedroom apartments for my daughter’s birthday. Unfortunately, the experience at check-in was very disappointing. Staff were quite rude and initially insisted we had only booked one apartment. After some time, they eventually found the second booking. We were then told that because we couldn’t provide photo ID for the children under 16, they would place a $150 bond hold on the booking, to be released within 2–5 business days. I recently stayed at Cairns Central Plaza Apartment Hotel and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience at check-in. Booked 2 same size apartments had to argue with the manager that apparently only one room was booked... After ringing my mother who booked the rooms he found the other booking. I provided my photo ID as the booking adult, as required. However, the manager then insisted that my underage children either provide ID or that I pay a $150 deposit.
