My mother in law (MIL)had Cahoon care for the last month of her life and I can’t say enough about them. The intake woman asked questions to understand my MIL’s personality and to pick the best caregivers for her. As a challenging personality I think the company did great. My MIL liked all the women who came which is not an easy feat. They all were timely, provided good care based on what my MIL wanted for the day, kept a detailed log book, and when asked to specifically track things they did that, too. Calhoon Care was recommended to me when I needed to supplement my aunt's care at her assisted living facility. They quickly found a consistent set of kind, compassionate, and attentive folks who were able to provide support and comfort to my aunt, who had dementia. They also did a great job of keeping me updated about what was going on for her when I couldn't be there evry day.
I’m writing this review for my uncle Allen who had an amazing experience with Cahoon Care after his knee surgery! To start with, when we called in we didn’t get an automated answering service, we got an experienced team who actually cared and helped us navigate the next steps. The wonderful caring people our family have worked with at Cahoon (Tammie & Amanda) have without a doubt, made my mother's life better these last several months. We had to make changes to the care additions to the Care. Sometimes reductions to the Care due to circumstances and they've always stepped up. My mom has a great deal of affection for Amanda. We can't thank her enough! We highly recommend these guys. I don't know what we would have done without them!
I contacted Cahoon Care on very short notice when my Mom's health took a downturn at her assisted living facility. Working with Brianna and the staff they were able to tailor my needs for two weeks leading up to my Mom's passing. With guidance from the Hospice nursing staff, Cahoon's caretakers were able to assist my Mom to a most comfortable, peaceful end of life.They helped make it possible for her to remain at the assisted living facility rather than being shipped off to a strange hospital or nursing home.
