This restaurant's deli front conceals a charming courtyard, which looks like it escaped from a Roman villa. On the menu, Panini sandwiches make a great snack and the selection of gourmet pizzas is enough to share for a light lunch. The Ravioli con Funghi will feed your love for mushrooms, combining cheese with porcinis, garlic and olive oil. The restaurant serves late, making this a perfect retreat after the theater or a concert.

Delicious food with great service. Nice sidewalk tables to feel the outdoors. Fun atmosphere that gets you in the "little italy" mood. Terrific beer and wine selection.
Great Italian Bakery/Restaurant Anytime I have family visiting San Diego, I always make a point to bring them to Cafe Zucchero. The bakery is amazing and they have so much variety. They probably have the best cannoli in San Diego. It's a great place to grab a pastry and sip a cappuccino in the middle of the afternoon. I have also enjoyed having dinner at Cafe Zucchero. The food was excellent and the service was great. Overall, it's a great bakery/restaurant in little Italy.
Atmosphere better that the food – Truthfully, you can get better pasta at Olive Garden. But, here you can sit outside and feel like part of the Pezza Novante. Food is a bit pricey, quality is ok, not great, not horrible. Cosi', cosi'. So-so. However, probably the best in little Italy, where the Italian food suffers. Better Italian food is found in the Gas-lamp district. When is someone going to open a great Italian place in Little Italy????? When that happens they will RULE! As of now the competition is nowhere.
Cafe Zucchero is HORRENDOUS! – The service, the coffee, the food, I probably had THE WORST experience I've ever had in a restaurant during the 18 years I've lived in San Diego. First of all, I get there and two of my friends were already seated in the outside terrace, and everything seemed nice. I brought a friend and my dog with me, and it was a busy night for a Thursday. I ordered an iced coffee, not a hard order. He comes back like 10 minutes later with a cup of light brown water. WATER! it tasted like he filled the cup w... read more
Extraordinary bakery It's amazing how one little place can be so much like Italy. If you like cannoli this is the bakery for you. I enjoy making my own but to find one that tastes just like you arrived in Italy is incredible. The price was a litlle high but worth each and every bite of cannoli.
Horrible Service – I have been in your restaurant a couple of times, but the last sunday i was there, i had the worste service i've every recieved. We were not properly sat-down in our table, we were instructed to order our food on the counter and pay before even getting our food. There were no waiters serving us. It took more than half an hour just to get our drinks, our water were never poured in our glasses, and we had to wait longer for our food. Our food was cold when served, and was not given the proper orders we reque... read more
Good italian food! I love this restaurant - food is very good as are their desserts, and the price is pretty decent! I love the feeling in Little Italy in general. I recommend their pasta and pizza dishes as well as their desserts.
