Cafe Selmarie is a quiet place that is perfect for intimate conversations or for enjoying the morning paper. Patrons enter through the bakery, with all of its wonderful aromas, and head for a table at the back of the restaurant or dine on the outdoor patio. The rich pastries and fabulous lunch and dinner entrees are divine. The lunch menu includes soups, salads, quiche and sandwiches. Dinner specials include mushroom crostini, seafood jambalaya and bistrot steak au poivre. Service is refreshingly courteous.

not worth the fuss – I have to agree with the earlier reviewer who said not to bring kids here. To look at it, you would think that this is the perfect spot for a nice mommy lunch--they have a really nice patio, it is pretty laid-back, but the prices are high and there isn't a whole lot of choice. I think the cakes are great, but the food is nothing special.......
My 2 cents – By far one of the best bakeries in the city! All of their confections are outstanding and worth the wait that must usually be endured on weekends. The excellent staff made my wedding cake and I couldn't have been happier with their graciousness and helpfulness. Our guests loved the unique choice of flavors and the beautiful workmanship.
It's not THAT bad! – Not every restaurant can satisfy families with young children. Some places aren't meant to be enjoyed by kids. If you want them to be happy, ammused, and pay $5, take 'em to McDonalds! I happen to enjoy Selmarie...
Superb! Excellent Desserts! – Very quaint corner restaurant and bakery in Lincoln Square. Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner I have entertained family, friends and large (10 people) groups. I'll keep returning again and again. There is something here for everyone! TRY IT!
No Children Allowed – Do NOT bring children here. Unless you want them sitting in front of an overpriced omelet or extravagant, tasteless French toast. Two bites later, as most youngins will do, and youre stuck with this very large bill for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Theres just nothing charming about an overpriced, stuffy, pretentious cafe that thinks anyone under the age of 21 an insignificant consumer.
