hookah is okay, but bypass the food While at UCSD, my friends and I used to come here all the time because they had hookah so when we all decided to get together 2 weeks ago, we thought we'd come back. I don't know if the beer goggles wore off or what but the potions were much smaller than we remembered and the food wasn't anything special. It's still an okay place to grab a hot drink and smoke some hookah, but I'd pass on the food.
Good Downtown Coffee Spot This is a great little place to grab a pastry and a coffee. It's in the heart of downtown as well and has been around for years.

Artistic! I have never tried the hooka at Cafe Lulu, but the coffee is amazing! The atmosphere is so good and artistic. They have all sorts of different desserts! I love it and highly recommend it!
Hookah Cafe Lulu is a hookah bar located in the heart of the gaslamp district. It has a pretty nice atmosphere but the prices are kinda ridiculous. And the last two times I have been there they have refused to help us with the coals - they let the tobacco purposely burn bad so that you continue buying more.
