SLOWEST SERVICE FROM HIPPY'S WITH ATTITUDE PROBLEMS – Do not eat here unless you have an hour to waste waiting for a bagel delivered by an employee that looks and smells as if they haven't showered in a month. Especially noted the extremely rude brunette behind the counter who looks as if fleas from her dreads are infesting the cafe. Would NOT recommend to anyone unless you have the whole day to waste with hippy's with an attitude problem.
Awesome, out-of-the-way find. – Some might feel this place is "divey", but I found it cozy and not as draining on the pocketbook as other coffee houses in this part of Denver. I think this establishment also has a very eclectic assortment of patrons which makes the experience even more interesting. As the previous review says there are indeed plenty of drink variations available for those with dairy intolerences or even sugar restrictions.
Hidden, but not overlooked. – Nice out-of-the-way hangout compleat with couches and adequate lighting for the readers. The patio out front (probally made for the smokers) attracts neighbourhood musicians and it's not uncommon to hear live music playing on arriving. This place is also very accomodating to customers with special needs, such as my "no milk or dairy in my drinks" condition.
Everything but the atmosphere is disappointing – Ive been to Cafe Europa twice and wont return. The service is unbelievably slow, the place is dirty, and the food is below average. Clearly under poor management, the staff struggles to even get a cup of coffee out in a reasonable amount of time. The cream and sugar counter looked as thought it hadnt been cleaned in a week. Bins of dirty dishes and food scarps sit around the restaurant for the many feasting flies. The location itself feels comfortable and hip but nothing else ... read more
Owner could be nicer...Breakfast should be later – Not really that freindly which stinks..it's the reason I don't go to Stella's..Breakfast should be all day on Sunday...Also when they are walking around they should pick up dirty plates and wipe the crumbs that are EVERYWHERE..the couches are gross..
very dissapointed – I am so dissapointed at this place. Cafe Eurpoa used to be such a good environment to be in and the food used to be wonderfull. The old owner sold the place and not it's going downhill. I will not return and neither will by friends. Not to mention rude costomer service. Where are all the origianl beatiful art work that used to be here. I know they sold it as is so where are they all. NOT RETURNING TO THIS PLACE AT ALL. Beaterice/Christine is you read this we wish you still owned the place. Chris
Long live Cafe Europa! – This is a delightful, laid-back West Wash Park neighborhood hangout that's more than just a coffee shop. This space has undergone several changes of ownership, and the present incarnation keeps me coming back for more. Cafe Europa features a terrific menu with daily specials and sponsors innovative events like movie nights and holiday specials. I go there often, and the staff and owner are always friendly, courteous, and helpful and go above and beyond in service. That the previous reviewer felt poor... read more
Very rude owner – I used to frequent Cafe Europa often. I love the feel of the place but things have changed with its new ownership. The young owner seems to have a chip on her shoulder. She is extremely rude to customers who are buying HER coffee. After she was rude to me, my friends and my colleagues, I have had to find a new coffee shop after many years of going to Europa.
A hidden gem in West Wash Park north of Alameda – A wonderful spot to just be. A hidden gem in wash Park. While there, you can enjoy a wonderful coffee beverage, take in the ambience, and wonder whether or not that nearby Kitchen Gallery is nothing but a front for the mob or not (never see anyone going in or coming out of there - it should be converted to a Trader Joe's as they are not in Colorado yet). Europa is also near Carmine's on Penn, and The Spot, both neighborhood institutions.
Cafe Europa has a 4.3 star rating with 129 reviews.
Cafe Europa is closed now. It will open tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
