good Tex Mex this past Sunday the kids and I went to eat there.. it was about 3:45pm. a very slow time and probably when they changed shifts. but we recieved excellent service and the girls who waited on us were patient, cause we couldn't decide on what we wanted to eat. Lori and Ivy are great!
health hazards I used to love Del Rio, that is until I worked there. The management, with the exception of Kevin, are not nice people. That however is not the only reason I will not be eating there anymore. After working there for only a few days, I was told to clean the tea urns... I proceeded to do so in the manner that we had at my previous place of employment (Cheddar's, the cleanest restaurant in Lufkin) however I was told that we were only required to wipe them out. Awesome Restaurant They have the best Mexican food at great prices. I had there three amigos, I believe it was and it was just awesome. I am really picky so you know if I like this place most people will like it. My child who is pretty picky even ate her nachos from there. They are even better than El Chicos! The service was awesome for being close to closing time. The waiters/waitresses were great. I'll definately be going back.
Used to be MUCH better I love del-rio and their quesadillas, but it's more for the amount of food and how quick you get it. They are super fast and we've never had to wait that long, even if it's packed. Good food. PROS: Good food, prices, waitstaff, fast service CONS: Not as good as it used to be
Don't know why people like this place. I cannot understand why the local Lufkinites love this place. I have gone twice and both times I thought the food was so-so at best. I've have food that was not very hot, it didn't look apetizing, and didn't taste all that great. I'd much rather have Taco Bell. I'd have to be VERY hungry for Mexican food to return to this place.
