Pleasantly surprised...awesome food and service! – Our family decided to try Cafe Colore before going to see the Lion King at the Buell Theater. It was walking distance to the theater and easy to find. Our waiter, Kyle, was superb! Cafe Colore is not pretentious, but very charming in its own way. Best food and service in downtown Denver! – I have heard that this is Denvers best kept secret and it is! I sat on the patio which is totally nestled back in Writer Square and had a chicken pasta with a parmesean cream sauce. It was to die for! I had 3 guests with me who also asked for server recommendations and loved what they got. We finished with a cannoli and it was the best I had ever had. I also have never had service as friendly. Always enjoyed the food, Service is questionable – We have eaten at Cafe Colore before theater dates on a number of ocassions and always enjoyed the salads and entrees. The biggest challenge is getting past the idiots at the front door - there has been a constant rotation of fools and each new person manning the door is less accomodating than the last one. They have repeatedly offered counter seating (no thanks) when the whole restaurant is empty at 6pm. We have successfully argued for a table a few times and there are still... read more
AMAZING FOOD! – What a great place! Atmosphere is cozy, service was great! Best of all was the food. Must try the pizza, its made with rich and high quailty ingredients. Definaly can taste the difference. And the panin's are awesome! You can't go wrong with what you choose. Don't forget desert! Peach bread pudding and Tiramisu are great. Don't pass on this place.
Panini to die for! – You must try the chicken, spinach, roasted red pepper and goat cheese Panini with pesto! It was divine. The creamy pesto pasta salad served with it was also delicious as was the Bellini.
yummy!! – I work right around the corner from this great Writer Square restaurant. I have to say that this place offers my favorite entree in the city! The Salmon fusilli in vodka sauce is the best combination I have ever tasted! Also, they have really great happy hour specials on drinks AND food! I almost hate to tell people about this place, keep it all for myself........
