1-Star Review Extremely Disappointed I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before having any major work done at CJ’s. I was initially told that my vehicle needed a complete transmission replacement, and I was quoted around $5,000. I was also told that financing was available, which made me question whether I was being pushed toward an expensive repair before the actual problem had been properly diagnosed. I had my transmission rebuilt on my 2014 Silverado 5.3 from CJ’s about 6 years ago and I have put nearly 50,000 miles on it since then and it has held up beautifully. Fluid is still a nice cherry red, shifts great, they must have installed the thermal bypass valve as my transmission fluid rarely runs above 160 dF which it always did before the rebuild, and has otherwise ran way much better than if I had never rebuilt it. I originally brought my car into the shop because my transmission and brakes felt funny. On the phone the "owner" stated that the inspection would be free if I got a service. When i had my appointment at 8am, I dropped off my car and the "owner" said it would be ready to pickup by 5pm. Whenever I got back to the shop, I owed them $180. I feel like the "owner" should have been more explicit in the detailing because I was expecting to get a service done since they had my car for 9 hours.
