We were there for a special event, very fun.
We had a great experience at Byrnes Irish Pub! Sylvia was very attentive, gave great recommendations, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Our food was served hot and delicious. The beer bread was a nice addition to our loaded baked potatoes (Yum!) Others in our group enjoyed the humongous foot long beef chili dog (Wow!) and a tasty hamburger. We recommend the blueberry lemonade cocktail, which was refreshing and dangerously good. Thank you, Sylvia, for treating us well and keeping our drinks coming!
We had a very poor experience in this pub. We bought are service dog in and the bar tender said “ if he is really a service dog. She then said they were closing the pub early because of temperature. It was 8:00pm and not very hot. It was also in the middle of the World Cup game Argentina vs. Cape Verde on July 3,2026. What kind of Irish Pub is this. Staff that is rude. And that closes its doors early during a World Cup Game.
We had a really good meal and drinks (the "pissed off leprechaun!") before seeing "1776" at Maine State Music Theater last night. The nachos were loaded with cheese and crunchy veggies, and my husband raved about his substantial shaved steak and cheese sub. My cobb salad was very tasty, and topped with cashelmole, which is listed as the Irish version of guacamole. It contained jalapenos and blue cheese in addition to the avocado.
