We had a decent stay at one of the properties managed by By the Surf (the Jackson Cottage). There were a few things wrong with the home, but we aren't complainers (washer did not clean laundry at all, horrid smell in the kitchen area upon arrival and throughout our stay, outdoor shower broken, gate on side of backyard was broken, etc.). Don't book a property through this company unless you want to be scammed. Extra charges for no reason with no response or proof. Horrible way to do business.
My family and I saved for an entire year for a vacation at one of the properties managed by this company. When we arrived many of the appliances were old, broken and/or not working properly. Also, there was a really bad smell that they were trying to mask with multiple cheap Walmart scents. We didn't complain but did our best to enjoy our time. When we left we cleaned and we were certain we completed everything on the checklist, and then some, leaving the home in great condition. They still charged us a fee for something the... read more
