We offer a full line of wood, gas, and pellet stoves, inserts and fireplaces. We are fully lic. and manufacturer certified. We are one of the few stove shops that install and service. We also sell outdoor fireplaces, creative playthings swingsets, playtime series swingsets. We also sweep chimneys, inspections, and liners. We are NFI and CSIA certified in wood, pellet and gas fuels. We carry Quadra-fire, Heat&Glo, Heatilator, Morso, Vermont Castings, Majestic and new this spring Durasol awnings and canopy's.

We drove over an hour to Buy the Fire to look at replacement gas fireplaces. We were treated wonderfully by Nick at the shop. He gave us a fair deal on a model we are very happy with. It was installed a couple of weeks ago and the installers were very efficient, clean and professional. We are very happy with the whole experience and recommend them very highly.
Nobody ever answers the phone. Goes to voicemail and that is never returned.
I had a lightning strike which fried the control box in my CAB 50 and with no service in my area I replaced it myself. It still didn't work.I live north of Bangor and they are located in Oxford. I called to see if they could assist me and they were very gracious to do so over the phone. I had the stove running within 15 minutes after talking with them saving me $$$$. Five Stars. My wife and I purchased three gas stoves and a gas fireplace for our new cabin in western Maine. Buy the Fire did an outstanding job from product recommendations, to a fair price, to a quality and timely installation that more than met our expectations, and they happily answered all our questions along the way.
Our Vermont Casting fireplace was serviced by Buy The Fire yesterday. I can't say enough about how wonderful Roger was. He was professional, courteous, and explained in detail why we were having so many problems. When he entered the house he put protective 'booties' over his work shoes. He placed a work blanket by the fireplace to protect the floors. The cost was extremely fair considering the amount of time he spent working. This family owned/operated business is a gem!
I am SO pleased with the quality and performance of the Vermont Castings Radiance propane stove I purchased from them ... but even more pleased with the service and integrity By The Fire has shown. They get an unqualified 5-stars from me!
