I had the pipes replaced, the hot water heater replaced, and the furnace replaced by them. From start to finish, it was a horrible job. Very overpriced.
I have now had two terrible experiences with incompetent workers at Burton and Sons. First a plumber who did bother to check the main drain for a clog, and wanted to charge a lot more to go through roof to find the source of our issues. Second furnace repair, was not sure what was wrong with it except maybe a loose wire. Worked for half a day before we had to call for another service. They then refused to send someone to our house.
Ripoff? Yes. Competent plumbers? Sure. Overpriced? Absolutely! My wife called these guys to checkout our toilet, which was sluggish and not flushing properly. They were here less than five minutes. The cost? $150. Apparently the problem was a bit of calcium buildup in the jets that pushed the water through. One look told them that. My time is very valuable to me and I was pleasantly surprised when given a 2 hour window and they stuck to it. the shoe covers were a nice touch also. The guy quickly found the problem with the humidifier, told me what it would cost, and fixed it with no trouble. I was a little concerned when he asked if he could look at the rest of my equipment. I figured he was just trying to find more work for himself, but when he found my terribly dirty filter and offered to change it, I was relieved.
This company charged as $415 to repair a burst hot water line in January 2011. About a week later, their repair failed and the line began leaking again. They cut off a portion of the pipe and capped it to stop the leak and said they would look for a fitting to reconnect the line. When they finally came back in August, they said they wanted to start ripping siding off the side of our house, adding thousands in additional costs. They kept the money and we have no hot water in that sink.
I had an emergency problem at my home with water everywhere.. I called Burton and Sons and they got out to my home with in the hour, and the plumber that they sent out to my home was very poliet and explained everything to me and he was able to get the job done right away, he even tightened up my faucets and checked all the plumbing through out the at no extra charge.. I would call them back any time.. Thank you for such quick service..
Had them out for a yearly boiler inspection, the repair man checked the exhaust area and stated that I had a cracked exchanger and the whole system needed replacement. I had another company come out and they took the side panels off, took a look around and said there was NO cracks and all it needed a good cleaning, a few adjustments and that would correct the CO2 leakage. My water heater started leaking out the bottom and i didnt know what to do. From the minute I talked on the phone I knew i was in good hands. the plumber came out that day, put covers on his shoes when he arrived and proceeded to check out the problem and explain my options. 2 hours later, I had a new tank completely installed and he even took away the old one. They would not even give me a price. They wanted to come out and charge me. I wil not use them again
