I have never given a review less than 5 stars. I believe in trying to work it out with a local business. This time I just can't. My dogs have been coming here for years. On Tuesday morning we called for an appointment and were told they were booked and to come Wednesday, which we did. My dog needed emergency surgery because he was bleeding internally. I noticed some signs with my dog that would suggest she’s in the early stages of closed pyometra roughly 2.5 weeks ago - I took my dog to this vet as precaution (hoping it wasn’t what I thought). Dr. Kerr and staff got me in within an hour of my call. They immediately checked and saw my dog did in fact have closed pyometra. I’m impressed with Dr. Kerr’s professionalism, as well as directness in explaining that if I don’t get surgery done, she will die (which is true). He didn’t sugar coat it, which I respected. My mother’s dog had a distal femoral osteotomy surgery for her patellar luxation. She was 8 months old. My mom was referred to Dr. Kerr for an MRI. My mom brought her dog there and the doctor convinced her that she didn’t need an MRI and he could do the surgery. He was very convincing to my mom and she agreed. The dog never recovered. I adopted a frenchie two days ago and she seemed to have some peeing issues (i figured maybe a UTI). Dr Kerr got us in right away as they have a history- he was the first vet she saw after being rescued. Dr Kerr is absolutely a phenomenal, kind, intelligent man who cares so much about your animal babies! Even tho he “fit us in” he spent however long I needed in order to get my questions answered. I wasn't happy with dealing with multiple veterinarians that seemed not to have communicated well with each other or didn't keep the chart up to date. I left after our cat was in such a bad shape, severe diabetes with bad necropsy due to overdosing steroids and no plan of what could be next, and we feared he would die and went for a 2nd opinion. 1.5 years later, he is off his insulin and a happy cat again.
