My parents had been a paid in full contract, when my Mom passed in May we were informed there would be an additional fee of $525 because she was being buried on the weekend, NO where in the contact is there anything about this fee. We had family that came in from out of state and all arrangements had been made before we found out about this fee, I think was ridiculous because my parents prepaid all expenses of their burial so there would not be anything owed upon their death, I have read and read the contract and can not fin... read more
My mother and father bought lots out there along time ago, After everything was said and done with the pre paid open and closing they said I had to pay $525 more dollars because it was on a weekend. This is rediculas and I see lawyers in the near future
I visited my Aunt and Uncle's grave today and was disappointed with the lack of ground maintenance. I spoke to the yard crew and was told that they didn't have the proper mulch attachment for their mower to properly mulch all the leaves and were waiting to hear from the owner about the purchase. They gave me the owners name Dale Lawrence and I called and was told he's out of the office and that he would return my call. A lady called back in place of Dale who was the overseer of Burningtree Memorial Gardens and was told that ... read more
My parents bought their plots years ago when the cemetery was very well taken care of. It was really pretty and seemed very peaceful place to lay a loved one to rest. My Dad has been buried there for almost a year and the place is really bad. The weeds and junk grass have totally taken over. Doesn't look maintained at all. I guess after they sold all the plots, they really don't have to keep up appearance. Would not recommend to anyone as it sits.
Burningtree memorial gardens is a beautiful cemetery and very we'll kept. My mother in law and step son are in the cemetery and my family have always been pleased with the friendly service they provide. Graves can sink and ant hills can come up in a day or two. They work hard to keep the cemetary clean. Highly recommend them.
Do not buy a burial plot at Burningtree Memorial Gardens in Decatur, Alabama! Even though plot price includes "perpetual care," the cemetery looks awful! The grass is not mowed, ant beds everywhere, weeds covering graves, holes/sink holes causing many graves to sink....Terrible!! Repeated calls and pleas to maintain the cemetery have fallen on deaf ears!! Total disgrace to my Loved Ones who are buried there.
My dad passed away three years ago and they still as of yet put down his year of death. My mother has called them several times and now the number is disconnected.
