good place, but a bit loud – 4 stars instead of 5 bc it was loud. chatty people. I like the BW in SM better. its quiet and peaceful!
Great Service and Overall experience – went with my wife and ended up staying the whole day! Even ordered in food!!
Employee reviews – The economy being low is no excues to take advantage of and abuse potential employees and employees. If the economy is effecting the day spa so terribly should close its doors with dignity before resorting to paying employees little to nothing and overworking technicians. The unprofessionalism and condescending attitude displayed by the trainer of the company, Michele, is horrendous and nothing short of harassment. Shame on you Burke Williams! – I've been to Burke Williams many, many times, In fact I have a membership there because the services are absoloutely amazing as well as the ambiance being relaxing and facility is always immaculate. I give all the hard working technicians there 5 STARS. Keep up the good work. On a recent visit to the spa I felt the need to ask my tech if the pay was good and she honestly told me NO, she said that they basically get paid minimum wage and most of their income if not all depended heavily on TIPS. ... read more
Best value ever... – While most people will definitely enjoy this spa and all of its amenities, let me just say that there are a few that this facility would not be for. I can see how some people might be "put off" by the sometimes insincere attempts at customer service like big smiles and hands on your back to lead you, noisy dressing rooms at peak times and perhaps hokey décor. wasn't great and to much money! – It's wasn't HORRIBLE but it wasn't an "aaaaa" moment either. It's just too much money when there are other places nearby that are MUCH CHEAPER but your body feeeels like it spent a LOT! People are kinda snooty too. I'm not from here but it seems that places like this almost want you to feel privileged for being there instead of thankful for your business!
HORRIBLE – OMG!!! Made a waxing appointment, yup, bikini, turned into a nightmare. I asked for a very basic brazilian, assumed they were a professional spa with real professional aestheticians.. NO!!!! She had no idea what she was doing, started globbing tons of wax on then yanking and yanking and she didn't know what to do. I had to stop her and say you don't know what you're doing do you? Okay - for people who like massages – If my Burke Williams experience had begun with the luxurious 30-minute birthday bath and ended with a quart of the delectable cucumber water, this would be at least a four star review. Flavored spa water is nice. Soothing baths with jets and aromatic additions are too. It's the massage part that, no pun intended, puts a kink in the experience for me -- someone who hates massages. Doesn't meet Burke Willilams standard – I had the best spa experience of my life when I visited Burke Williams in Santa Monica. Best massage, great amenities and an overall excellent atmosphere at that location. When I learned that they opened a location in SF, I was excited since I live in the bay area. I have been to the SF location 3 times now and it just doesn't measure up to what I experienced in Santa Monica.
