I needed to get copies of my birth certificate. It seemed like there were additional fees to do anything online, so I decided to go to the office. You can only fill out the paperwork in person, which was a bit of a shame. However, I was expecting to submit my information and return 2 hours later to pick it up, as the website suggested. I was able to get copies of my kids’ birth certificates and my certificate fairly quickly. The representative was very helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks for an easy transaction.

Couldn't find my order after I paid their fee the fee for the birth certificate and the fee for the notery.

As I was born in Iowa but now live in Pennsylvania so unable to drive to Des Moines and wanted a birth certificate for my passport, I applied to Lyon County. They informed me my certificate could not be obtained because the spelling of my father's name was listed with 2 ll's at end. So they said I should fix at the state level. When I applied to amend this at the state level, clerk said my father's name was spelled correctly but my name was not. So I was told to apply again to fix my name!
