You can tell some folks are new but they try hard and in a beautiful place like this, being patient is much easier.
Pros: The hotel, private beach, and grounds are beautiful. Our family loved the wildlife - pelicans diving for fish and iguanas, chickens, and cats roaming around the property. For the most part the service was warm and friendly. Cons: The beach and pool were not able to keep up with the demand for towels and ran out frequently. Unless you arrived early you were unlikely to get lounge chairs at the beach or pool. The location is unbeatable and Morningstar Beach is gorgeous. However, the room is not a four star hotel room. It appears that some sort of mold growth inside the HVAC vent. I paid a lot for this trip. I didn't think I got what I paid for.
The property is extremely beautiful, and the beach is picture perfect! First beach trip with a baby under 1 and we so appreciated how inviting and sweet the staff on the property were! The staff at the restaurant doted on our baby, wanted to carry him, talk to him, and play with him. We visited The Buoy Haus Resort (and the island of St. Thomas) for the first time for Spring Break 2026. While it's a pricy place to stay, it's absolutely beautiful and was well worth every penny. We were given a complimentary upgrade to an Ocean View room, which was on the 3rd floor of Villa 3.
