Don't believe the influencers and bloggers, this service road should NOT be navigated without a truck or 4 wheel vehicle. My mini van had absolutely no business being out there but it was too difficult to turn back. It's a miracle we made it. Plus, we never did find the elusive swimming hole. The river was still nice but not worth the harrowing drive.
The road to get there was horrible, it was like a death trap. Never again. And to get to thr river was over a mile walk
It’s a long rocky and some parts scarry to get there but it was nice and different for an unplanned drive.
Awesome place however the drive in and out is definitely rough! Sedans make it but personally wouldn’t risk it. Honestly , don’t know how they did make it! Gets busy fast so go early if you’re going to go! Barely, any shade along trail but by watering hole plenty of shade.
