It’s not open!!!!I came out today, the gate is closed everyone had to turn around, but yet it says it’s still open!!!! I just want everyone to know in case you try to drive out there.
MOUNTAIN LION OCT 30/2025 We were walking on the bullpen rd at (34.5399509, -111.7051217) and we saw a big tree branch move very drastically and we we looked up there was huge mountain lion. All I saw first was the long tail then the head. My boyfriend grab a couple rocks and pretend to throw at it. It run away. We turned back and left. Road to get there is extremely sketchy. There is no sign until you’re almost there. It’s 5 miles of unpaved road with the last 2 miles being especially bumpy with some larger rocks and big potholes. I have a jeep, but was still slightly worried at times. Thankfully, I made it without incident. Such a pretty area. Went on a weekday afternoon in September and it was basically a ghost town.
