I used to love Bull & Bones but yesterday I went back for the first time in a while and I have to say, the service was sub-par, the food was terrible (oversalted, awful sausages, garlic mashed potatoes that consisted of more garlic than potatoes, bad hamburgers), some sides were no longer available at 5 in the afternoon, the portions were tiny and overpriced. $15 for three small sausages, a few spoonfuls of baked beans and mashed potatoes. Very disappointing!

Bull and Bones was one of my favorite places for special occasions, until yesterday. I don't know if you have changed chefs or what but I did not receive what I have grown to expect from Bull and Bones. I ordered the Pulled Pork Platter. What I received looked like it had be hacked off with a cleaver. A full 20%-25% of what i received was fat and connective tissue. One of the better restaurants in Blacksburg and one of my personal favorites. Make sure you try the Maroon Effect draft if you go. They just added to the menu, I got the schnitzel with mashed potatoes and my girlfriend got flatbread pizza and they were both delicious. A little pricey, but worth it for the experience and exceptional service. This place has really improved, I can't wait to come back and try more stuff off the new menu!
