Wonderful Experience at Historic Distillery The 55 minute tour goes very fast, is very enjoyable, and filled with fun and information. The walking tour covers about a three block area including a "barrel crossing" complete with a crossing arm and lights similar to a typical railroad crossing. A free tour of a working distillery The Buffalo Trace Distillery Gift Shop offers reasonably priced high quality merchandise such as clothing, glass ware, and tasty treats that are flavored with their bourbon of course. The Buffalo Trace Bourbon Balls have been voted twice by the Louisville Courier Journal as being the best Bourbon Balls made in the state. Great tour of the facility Call ahead and get tour information. I just did the tour this fall and it was great. The distillery is small and quaint, but that means you get an up close look at the history, storage, experiments and more. When I was there, we actually walked through the bottling process and got to see the workers put the labels on each individual bottle. There's a gift shop too.
