Had a fine experience both picking up and dropping off. Took a chance and showed up early - no problem, they got me in a car and out the door. Messi was the best, very helpful - not that Messi, a very cheerful lady. Thanks, Messi!
Renting from Avis/Budget is nothing but hassle and grief. They'll never have the car you ask for, they'll charge you for damage that was there when you picked it up, they don't clean the cars in between customers, and they'll screw you on tolls even if you have an EZ Pass. Most of their business comes from Uber drivers these days. They're in the business of renting cars to people without cars who use them to do Uber. They're not really interested in your vacation being pleasant. Spend a little extra and go with Enterprise.
Avoid this place! I had the worst experience. I booked a car online, my reservation was confirmed, and I was even able to complete the online check-in. The location was supposed to close at 6:00 PM. I had reserved the car for 5:30 PM, and everything was confirmed. I arrived just before 5:30 PM, only to be told by the employee that there were no cars available and that I would have to come back the next day at noon. The website let me book the car specified and I went there to be told they don’t have any cars available. If you don’t have cars available, don’t let people book and show up!
At the point of returning the car, the old lady forced me to put an insurance claim against an already damaged windshield crack which wasn’t made note of when collecting. Took a picture before driving out but refused to accept it even with a timestamp. Please ensure all damages are made note of and marked before leaving the office. Rented a multiple times from here. Will never come back. She seems to like scamming customers.
