First timer – Had the Egg Plant parm. The small was plenty for two. Can't remember what it was called but also had tomatoes with cheese and olive oil. Everything was very good. Server was outstanding. I Loved the pictures as some were very funny. I will go back!

Why I will never go back. – I made a reservation for four for 7 PM, I arrived a few minutes early and checked with the hostess to make sure they had my reservation, they did. When the rest of our party arrived I let the hostess know that we were all there and ready when our table was. We were seated shortly, well most of us were. We were taken to the farthest room from the front door, to a space that literally required the guests at the next table to stand to allow us room to get to one side of our table. Disappointed – Wasn't expecting a gourmet meal by any stretch but both me and my wife were disappointed with the taste of the food.

Good southern Italian – This is good if you're dying for southern italian dishes and need someting close. I grew up near a 'little italy' and we have nothing even close in jax fl, but this comes as close as it gets. Bucca is a chain but tastes better than most chains i've been to.

Not for European Italians.... – ....but I returned once and maybe more in the future. I am new to the area and originally Italian so the first thing I do in a new city is to explore the dining scene. Beppo's does not serve authentic Italian food but to do so would require flying in the ingredients on a daily basis. Placing my Italian palate aside I was able to enjoy some of the dishes and learn to stay clear of some other ones. On average nothing overly pleasing and nothing offensive. Closest Thing To Italian That I Have Ever Tasted – Ok, so I understand the debate over true Italian and not true Italian. Here are my feelings on that subject. Unless you are from the old country or your mom is just one generation away from it, are you really going to know what true Italian really tastes like? What I do know is that I have eaten at Buca's several times and have never had a bad meal or bad service. Chains...What a Shame – Dave, Mr. Restaurant Reviewer. You wouldn't know Italin food if it bit you you on your rump. "They import everything., because I asked. " Dave, did you know there is no such thing as American olive oil. All olive oil is imported. They do not make olive oil in America. Once again, the locals, who seem to be astonished with chain restaurants, simply are afraid to try an authentic ethnic menu. Jacksonville grows, but never grows up.
