Dr. Kaye did warn us that his approach was different, and we were up to try something new so we jumped in. Different is not always better and this was a great example where the style was very much not helpful for us. We did all the readings he recommended from his books, and then came in to be delivered lectures on the topics we’d read about. The most interesting thing to me was that he didn’t seem curious enough to ask about what we were actually struggling with. We’d sit down and almost immediately he’d dive into a lecture... read more

My experience with Dr. Kaye was very positive. I appreciate his wealth of knowledge, his understanding of biological and behavioral response, his flexibility in using multiple resources and modalities and his openness to think outside the box. Dr. Kaye worked with me in addressing my trauma using Hypnotic Resource Grafting. Through this technique, I was able to resolve trauma that I had been carrying for years. The old responses and triggers no longer overwhelm me. Truly amazing! I'm grateful.

Dr. Bryce Kaye is unlike any doctor you'll ever meet. He heals the "UN-healable". I'm starting my review this way because he has helped ME shape my life into a life WORTH living. After 23 doctors and 9 therapists over the past 13 years, I am proud to say that in 7 months Dr. Kaye gave me the tools and strength to be a trauma graduate. No more anxiety, constant depression and NO MORE therapists!! I am now free of the torture of rape and abuse. He's the jackpot of therapists. He's a life changer.

Dr. Kaye is an amazing couple's counselor. He educates his clients in ways that they can attain and maintain a balance between personal needs, your significant other's needs, and the needs of the relationship himself. His knowledge of psychophysiology informs the advice he gives, and it works! He is caring, impartial, non-judgmental, and very effective. He has decades of experience, and it shows. His book "The Marriage First Aid Kit," was the perfect adjunct to therapy. I highly recommend him!

While Dr Kaye may have great marital material to read, his "skill" in the office was unprofessional, bias, a lack of preparation/direction, paying $175.00 cash per hr- it was most damaging to a 34 year marriage suffering. Unfortunately for me, he knew my husband better in "3" one hr. sessions than what has taken me over 35 plus years to figure out. He knew him better than 8 previous health care professionals. Be cautious- he may or may not allow you to speak.

Business response:

I am active and direct unlike many therapists who just listen, reflect and don't get anything done. But some clients have serious emotional issues and will get offended when I don't take their side. They may become vengeful and distort my work online. Some have even asked non-client friends to post negative reviews for maximum impact. If you read the many Google reviews about "Cary Counseling Center" on Google places then you can read in detail about how I really work. Please get the truth.

Dr Kaye used a marital situation between him and his wife that I didn't think was appropriate to address during our marital counseling. He also told me (the wife) that it was none of my business how much money my husband gave his 46 year old adult son. He also stated that he was not going to address the issue of enabling - he did not think that was important to address. He focused on my husband and totally ignored my concerns.

Business response:

First it should be mentioned that this patient filed a complaint with the psychology board which investigated. The board found no legal or ethical problems in my handling of the case. When some patients are polarized with extreme anger toward their spouse I will sometimes be misinterpreted as being against them when I don't exactly take their side. Please see the many reviews from other clients by Google searching "marriage counseling Cary" and looking for us on Google places.
