my husband and I are both ended this doctor in the past and agreed that he is one of the best..
I took my 2 year old child to urgent care today as I suspected she had a case of hand, foot, mouth disease that she contracted from the daycare she recently began attending. Although her fever broke, she's not been eating or sleeping and crying a great deal and complaining about her feet and mouth hurting. I think Dr Bruce is awesome! She's been my primary care doctor for about 6 years. She's attentive, thorough, and always a good listener. She has a calm and patient demeanor and is never in a hurry. If there is something that she believes could be handled better by a specialist, she let's me know. She has provided me with great medical care and I highly recommend her to my friends and family. Dr. Black is an amazingly knowledgeable and compassionate doctor who easily relates to my kids. I feel so lucky to have found her for them. She takes her time, really listens to them, and has a great sense of humor and positive attitude. You might find someone as good, maybe, but you couldn't do better.
She takes all of our problems seriously. Both my children are very comfortable with her and she is thorough in her exam.

Very disorganized visits that were blamed on the front office staff. Dr. Bruce was not interested in listening to me as a patient and said she wouldn't treat my symptoms. She also wouldn't listen to the newer clinical guidelines for treating my chronic illness. Additionally, the 'preventative physical' , did not actually include a physical examination. I would not recommend her.
I have 6 kids and my oldest (and only daughter) is a handful.... and then some. Dr. Black took time to actually speak to her and try to get through. I also have a son with autism and she is amazing with him. When I need something, especially to help him at school she doesn't hesitate. She never makes me feel like I'm crazy, either. Thank you Dr. Black. You rock.
Dr. Slattery has been my Dr. for all three of my children. 2 of them since birth! She is FANTASTIC! She is a mother herself and her love for children just shines through her care. Her office is very convenient for us western Shawnee residents. I am so happy I found her.
