I'm a stranger in this area being a snowbird, and I've never dealt with the possibility of serious illness before. Furthermore I have a deeply ingrained fear of doctors due to early trauma, so I was not looking forward to meeting Dr. Porterfield despite his very impressive credentials. He immediately put me at ease, however, as I found him to be a kind and gentle person.
