The office is very badly run with unfriendly and unhelpful staff. There is zero follow through on prescriptions and next appointments and referrals. I have always had to make multiple phone calls to resolve an issue myself after sometimes months of waiting. It's frustrating enough to make me consider switching doctors.
Dr Hughes is an amazing advocate for MS & always takes the time to assure I understand what is going on. I appreciate his patience!
His practice is like a revolving door. I feel like he tries to just placate his patients. I do telehealths because his appointments are like 15 mins and I always feel rushed through them. I see him once...ONCE..a year and his NP once a year. That is not a professional relationship make. He doesn't know me and doesn't want to know me. I had severe nerve pain in my right arm. Really listens to my concerns, and empathizes. Clear, conscience, and keeps me up to date on research.
Dr. Hughes is the most caring and knowledgeable neurologist. Despite having many patients, he always takes time with you and makes sure he answers all your questions.
He’s been my Neurologist for 15 years, he diagnosed my MS. He is an amazing doctor.
Dr. Bruce Hughes has been treating me since I moved to Iowa, over three years ago. I suffer from MS, a chronic condition. He is always attentive and fully engaged; he is both encouraging and realistic. When I first moved here, he helped me with a physician's letter for my driver's license application and gave me a prescription for physical therapy. I feel fortunate to have him as my physician.
I have always found Dr. Hughes to be empathic and communicative. If I have questions he is always willing to discuss them. I have found him to be very patient and he makes me feel that my concerns or question are valid question. He has never left me feeling like he had more important things to do. At every visit with him I have felt that my concerns have been addressed and my questions respected.
Dr. Hughes is a very patient and kind and is top-notch in his field. He is very understanding and keeps you very informed of treatments available. He never makes you feel hurried during his visits and is always good about answering your questions and explaining your condition.
