My grandmother with dementia has been here a couple months and seems so much happier than the last place she was at. Dawn made the intake so easy and she was great to talk to. The staff are very caring and friendly, they call and keep you updated on everything going on. There is always some kind of fun activities going on for the residents. Everything is always clean as well. I would highly recommend Brookdale!
We just spent a wonderful day with my dad at Brookdale in Valparaiso, where he is a resident in one of their assisted living apartments. St. Patrick's Day was the theme and families were invited. We had a delicious meal of Irish Stew, fun drinks, joined in a sing-along of familiar Irish tunes, and had a demonstration of chair exercises that residents regularly do, where we participated. My wife is gradually losing the use of her brain. This makes her increasingly vulnerable as the months roll by. As her dementia has progressed, the people at the Brookdale Alzheimer's and Dementia Care facility and the staff of Dunes Hospice have made the necessary adjustments to accommodate her increasing need for care and safety.
