The community ... These are not just seniors living someplace ... It is a family. It is like the biggest family reunion you've ever been too!!! The residents are the very best part of working here!! Nothing feels as good as making them smile or sharing in their laughter. Even when the hard parts of working in "senior care" happen ... there is great comfort in knowing that person's last days were filled with dignity,surrounded by people who truly loved cared & appreciated them.
Don't bill dead people two weeks after they pass and their stuff is cleared out...looks bad when you're supposed to be aware of living vs. dead residents. Maybe you can update your records sooner, when a resident dies, so the deceased person's bank account isn't hit two weeks after they pass...just some food for thought. Oh and when the family of the deceased visits in-person, and calls PRIOR to the "dead" billing, maybe try to pay attention to that and work to get that final bill settled and, again, AVOID taking money from ... read more
This is true ‘community!’ My father, my sister and I recently went on a two day whirlwind tour of several independent and assisted living retirement communities in the Tri Cities, Washington area and this place beat them all! Kind, caring, professional staff and very friendly residents. From the moment you step through the doors it has a completely different vibe. My father, who was reluctant to start this journey, was ready to commit to this community by the end of the tour!
Friendly staff that you can tell cares about their residents!
This place is simply awesome! As children our parents want what is best for us and as an adult you always want what is best for your parents. Brookdale Canyon Lakes answers that call for me daily!
