After delivering my daughter in January, I made multiple attempts to establish care with a general/primary care provider through Vanderbilt. Despite clearly requesting a general provider, I was repeatedly routed to an OB-GYN due to being postpartum. It took approximately six weeks to be seen. Have been seeing Helmer several yrs, had been pleased with service til last appointment, she said needed Bone density test & never ordered, I called check what was going on & was rudely told by nurse not be calling & that she hadn't put in order...needless to say changed to new PC
Very disappointed in this office. Went in for a prescription refill/annual visit and ended up being billed for many other things, along with labs that I never asked for. Been trying to get this worked out between this office and insurance for 6 months. Also just not a very pleasant person to see. Switching doctors asap
Scheduled to meet with Dr. Helmer not b/c I was sick but as a possible primary care option. She was obnoxious. Came into the room lecturing about something she has no specialty or expertise in and without asking a single question. Worst doctors visit I've ever had. This woman prob shouldn't be working around real human beings.
