Tried to defraud me. Changed the title to my house into his name before the deal was done.

What happened in this instance, was a Memorandum of Contract was recorded - which clouds the title and keeps the home owner from selling the house to somebody else, while under contract with us. We record this document with ALL our home purchases and protects our interest - never once has there been an issue. Once a sale closes with us, the Memorandum is usually released at the closing.
