I had such high hopes. My very first "meeting" I explained that a lot of the subjects were triggering due to my past abuse. The "lady" running the group session literally told me that my past abuse doesn't matter.. ONLY matters why I'm there, which i told her I'm 100% accountable for. She STILL said that my past abuse doesn't matter. I would love to finish this class, but the people running the class don't seem to care about helping you have a healthier lifestyle. Dont read any of the negative comments. It's fair to say that most of us who would comment are individuals who have at the very least perpetrated a crime. That means when you are reading these negative harsh comments it's from individuals who didn't take the program serious and are in fact not rehabilitated. I've learned stuff and changed my life profoundly since being here and spent most of my life in and out of jail,and not until I came here did I feel a change. As someone who has not done the so called program I have know people who have completed and still say this is by far the worst place to do any DV class, it is in my opinion that there is two sides to every story and sometimes the person who is the alleged abuser is in a life or death situation and has to defend themselves from the actual abuser. The simple fact that the staff do not understand trauma and the effects it has on individuals and how difficult it is to get away from their abuser is beyond me. The only reason this... read more
