Just OK – I actually went with Phoeneex (from previous post) to try this place out. All in all, the food was good -- the quality of the meat was definitely better than other places I've been to. However, the curry tasted the same to me. I did think this place was a bit pricey compared to other places. In addition, the food took forever to come considering the place was not at all packed. I was starving for quite awhile. The ambience was nice and the waiters were friendly. Was just OK.

Food was great, service is mediocre – My girlfriend had a craving for curry and wanted me to take her soemwhere where it would be spicy. Shes a fanantic when it comes to food being spicy, although she was too afraid to try the Vindaloo, she went with the Madras. She liked it cause with almost every curry dish you can have your choice of vegetarian, chicken, lamb, or tofu. I was going on the safe side and ordered the Tikka Masala (chicken) with an order of plain Naan. It was really flavorful and the rice was just delicious. M... read more

Closest curry to home.... – I wanted to try this place after having so long waiting to have curry like back in the UK. FINALLY!! It really is great food, so the prices are a little higher than the other restaurants on this strip but it really is worth it. If you can get over the slight pretention from some of the staff then it is most definately worth checking out. We ordered a classic tikka masala and a jalfrezi, both exploding with great taste and more than enough to feed 2 of the biggest eaters! I've lived away from the U... read more

Good curry, nice ambiance, not overpriced either – I loved the curry. I had the Lamb Vindaloo and it was really good! Very spicy as expected but it was very flavorful. The place has good ambiance and the service was good. Also, we had this dish that was spinach, almond, and chicken and it was very yummy. I would definitely pick thisplace over the popular Balucchi down the street.

Good in parts, but does not match the hype - so many alternatives within a block – I'm British, but I have lived here for 12 years and was looking forward to something to fill the gap in NY between the "gourmet" Indian food at Dawat and Utsav and the regulars on Indian Row. Brick Lane is almost there but just cannot seem to get it completely right. Of the four dishes we had, one was very good indeed (Goan curry) - one (lamb vindaloo) was overly sweet, and the lamb in the jalfrezi was inedibly tough - which was a matter of no... read more

Great Catering Service – Brick Lane catered our wedding in July and both the food and the service were fantastic. Our guests were raving and continue to rave about the food. Raj and Sati were incredibly helpful in assisting us as we chose the menu and throughout the process, they were responsive, proactive, upfront and understanding. We're not sure where some of these other reviews are coming from. We highly recommend Brick Lane - both their restaurant and their catering service.

Lost promise – This restaurant has the perfect setup and the worst execution. A good seating plan with uncomfortable chairs, a great menu that ends up in very poor dishes and very friendly staff -- if you can find anyone. Brick Lane Curry House could have been a contender if it just took a look at itself in the mirror and had the courage to acknowledge what it saw. I still recommend this for vegetarians. There is a plenty of food and if you can order it properly you can actually get out satisfied. Beware of the americanized ... read more

various choices – curries spice and great authentic aroma from appetizer to entree. here you can have goat and panner as well. waiting time is a bit long during peak hours, so be prepare or reserve at opentable ahead of time. the atmosphere is very romantic and great for couples and small groups. soon i will try on the lunch buffet they have.

Brick Lane Disaster House – As a cook that formerly worked in an Indian restaurant , I know a thing or two about the cuisine. BLCH is a disaster with terrible food & service. Ate there with four friends and all had the same reaction. Now the details.....We started our evening with a Tandoori Sizzler ($20.00). A few pieces of over cooked meat on bed of tasteless vegetables. Prawn Balchao- Not bad, but still not impressive. The Goat Bhuna had 0 meat and all bone. Lamb Biryani- A Classic- This tasted like Rice a Roni cooked wit... read more
